Participation of JEC in "Safer Internet Day Online Programme" Organised by MeitY and NIC, Madhya Pradesh – 10 February 2026

Safer Internet Day was observed worldwide on 10 February 2026 to promote the safe, secure, and responsible use of the internet and digital technologies. In line with this, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), under the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) project in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), organised a nationwide awareness campaign with the theme "Smart tech. Safe choices.Exploring the Safe and Responsible Use of AI"

The NIC Madhya Pradesh Unit actively participated in the event and instructed all Government Technical Institutions and Polytechnic Colleges to join the programme through a virtual platform. In accordance with these directives, Principal Dr Rajeev Chandak directed the faculty members of Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC), Jabalpur to participate in the programme online.

The programme focused on creating awareness about safe internet practices, cyber hygiene, major cyber threats, and responsible digital behaviour. Mr Rakesh Jain, Senior Technical Director and Head, NIC, addressed the participants and emphasised the importance of cybersecurity. Shri Kamlesh Joshi, State Informatics Officer and Deputy Director General, National Informatics Centre, Madhya Pradesh, also addressed the gathering. 

 The faculty members of Jabalpur Engineering College attended the programme sincerely and resolved to pass on the learning to their students, ensuring greater awareness and responsible use of the internet within the institution.
