The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established in 1996, keeping in mind the increasing application of computers in almost all areas of human endeavors.  The department offers 90 seats for B.Tech course on which admission can be taken by a fair process conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, MP, on the ground of marks obtained in JEE Mains. The trend of last 20 years shows that CSE at JEC, JBP is the premier choice for aspiring students and the highest number of graduates of this branch get placed in leading tech companies.  We're proud to see so many of our students not only get great jobs but also continue their education at top institutes like IITs, IIITs, NITs, IISCs and IIMs. We also provide Letter of Recommendation to our top talent to study abroad. The CSE department also recommends our students for internship and research at reputed institutions for their career upliftmment.  Six CSE students have been selected to continue their studies at IIT Indore and MANIT Bhopal under government scheme of inbound program in the last two years. All the classrooms are well equiped with audio-visual smartboards for interactive learning. Our well- qualified and experienced teachers are dedicated to providing students with a balanced learning experience, combining equal parts of theory and practical application.  The syllabus is regularly updated to meet the latest industry demands, incorporating subjects on latest technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Cybersecurity, IOT,  5G communications  etc. We are also a recognised Center of Excellence in Artificial Inteligence builder by IIT Delhi and MP govt.

The department is the heart of the institute's computing facility, with CCF1 lab (80 Computers) , CC1 lab (30 Computers ) and SCR lab (30 laptops) , which are being utilised for conducting practical sessions of CSE students, 1st year B.Tech students (all branch) and TPO for conducting placement exams. We also have a dedicated Resarch lab for PhD candidates registered at CSE dept. Our department has signed MOUs with multiple organization for research and internship activity for students and we also continously provide mentorship for student Projects, Hackathons, Startups, workshops etc at Institute level.
