"Prahaar 2025: JEC's Inaugural Coding Battle"- 25 March 2025
The Information Technology Department of Jabalpur Engineering College organised its first intra-college coding competition, "Prahaar" on March 25, 2025. The event aimed to promote a programming culture and technical skill development among students, and it witnessed enthusiastic participation from budding coders across various branches of the college. The program commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, setting a solemn and inspiring tone for the day. Dr. Mamta Lambert, Professor.& HOD, Department of Information Technology and event coordinator, delivered the opening address, introducing the objectives and structure of Prahaar. She emphasised that the event was designed to identify and nurture talent in algorithmic thinking, logical reasoning, and real-time problem-solving.
Principal Dr. Rajeev Chandak addressed the students, appreciating the department’s efforts and emphasising the importance of integrating competitive platforms into academic pursuits. The chief guests of the event, Er. Sonam Jain and Er Ankit Jain (both alumni of JEC), owners of the reputed private company Badkul Technology Private Limited, congratulated the organising team and stressed the value of such events in enhancing students' confidence, technical exposure, and teamwork abilities.
The competition began at 10:00 AM and featured multiple coding rounds that challenged the participants' speed, accuracy, and creativity in solving problems. Teams competed in a time-bound environment, simulating real-world coding and development scenarios. Team Agentic Errors emerged as the winner of the competition and received not only a cash prize but also an internship opportunity from a reputed private company. Team Debuggers secured the second position, and Codeverse claimed third place. All winning teams were awarded cash prizes and special gifts as a token of recognition for their performance.
The competition proved to be an engaging and intellectually stimulating experience. Dr. Mamta’s efforts were commendable in ensuring that the coding contest was conducted on the Unstop platform, providing students access to a space that connects them with diverse career opportunities and competitions. Student coordinators Ranvijay Upadhyay, Yatendra Pachori, Satendra Parteti, Nikhil Singh, and Vivek Vaibhav played a vital role in making the coding contest a success, and their contribution was truly notable. Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Rajeev Chandak and the coordinator Dr. Mamta Lambert, Prahaar 2025 successfully laid the foundation for a tradition of coding excellence at JEC
