Jabalpur Engineering College  Hosts "Hack JEC 4.0 for Smart India Hackathon 2025"- 19 September 2025

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Jabalpur Engineering College organised the 4th edition of “Smart India Hackathon 2025: Hack JEC4.0," the intra-college round of the Smart India Hackathon, on September 19, 2025. On this occasion, Principal Dr Rajeev Chandak and IIC JEC Chairperson Dr Bhavna Jhariya, HOD (Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering) & Dean of Innovation and Development, were specially present. The programme began with a lamp lighting ceremony performed by the respected Principal Dr Rajeev Chandak, Dr Bhavna Jhariya, Dr Prashant Jain, Dr Mamta Lambert, and other faculty members of the college

HackahthonFollowing this, Dr Bhavna Jhariya addressed the gathering and gave a brief overview of the event. She highlighted that over the years, "Hack JEC 4.0" has become an important platform where students can present bold ideas and transform them into practical solutions. She emphasised that the hackathon is not just about competition but also about teamwork, creativity, and building something meaningful. She further added that the Institution’s Innovation Council has played a vital role in this journey by promoting entrepreneurship, applied research, and encouraging participation in programs like the Smart India Hackathon.

Hackthon 4"The Smart India Hackathon. Through workshops, mentoring, and guidance, it continues to help students think beyond classrooms and textbooks. Dr. Jhariya also inspired participants with her words: “Every great solution starts with a small idea. Win or lose, every effort you make holds the power to create real impact.” Her message motivated students to see their projects as the beginning of real change. Adding to this, Principal Dr. Rajeev Chandak praised the students for their innovative spirit and said, “Your ideas have the power to bring real social change. Hack JEC is not just a competition but a platform that prepares you for the challenges and opportunities of the future.”
Smart India HackathonA total of 65 teams took part in the preliminary online round, out of which 45 teams were shortlisted and 5 teams were kept on the waiting list. The shortlisted teams presented their innovative prototypes and solutions, showcasing creativity and problem-solving skills. The top five teams were recognised for their outstanding ideas and impressive presentations. Team Initiators won first prize, while Team Falcon won second prize. The jury members also appreciated the other three teams for their efforts and innovative approaches. The selected teams will now represent JEC at the final stage of the national-level "Smart India Hackathon 2024.". The event ended with warm congratulations to all participants for their hard work and enthusiasm. To encourage them further, certificates were given to every winner and participant as a reminder to keep using their time to grow their creativity and innovative ideas.
