Engineers’ Day Celebration 2025: A Tribute to Bharat Ratna, Sir M. Visvesvaraya- 15 September 2025

The Department of Electrical Engineering at Jabalpur Engineering College, in association with the Institution of Engineers, celebrated Engineers’ Day on 15 September 2025, paying special tribute to Bharat Ratna, Sir M. Visvesvaraya, on his birth anniversary, in whose honour the day is observed nationwide.  The program was honoured by the presence of distinguished guests, including Dr Rajeev Jain, Prof. R.K. Jain, Dr A.K. Sharma,  Principal Dr Rajeev Chandak, and Dr Shailja Shukla, Dean of Academics & HOD (Department of Electrical Engineering).

The celebration commenced with the release of Dr A.K. Kori’s book entitled "Electrical Machines and Protection Systems," a valuable contribution to the field of electrical engineering, followed by inspiring speeches from the dignitaries. The book launch added a sense of pride to the occasion, showing students how dedication and knowledge can lead to lasting achievements, and motivating them to dream big and work towards their own goals. 

ED7Dr. Shailja Shukla, addressing the gathering, inspired the budding engineers by reminding them that in today’s AI-driven world, society needs three essentials—power, innovation, and ethics—and electrical engineers can provide all three. She urged the students to take a pledge: "to innovate, to learn, and to serve" society with dedication. Additionally, Dr Rajeev Chandak encouraged the students to commit themselves to at least one small innovation during their academic journey. He also advised them to prepare diligently for repeated national-level competitive exams, such as the UPSC Engineering Services, which open wider avenues of service and leadership for engineers.

The event also featured speech and poetry competitions on the theme of Innovation in Engineering, where students presented their creativity and talent. Winners were awarded certificates in recognition of their talent and efforts.  The event inspired everyone to learn with dedication, think with creativity, and work with honesty, carrying forward the true spirit of engineering

The programme received wide coverage in newspapers and the media, highlighting not only the enthusiastic celebration at Jabalpur Engineering College but also the reverence paid to late  Sir M. Visvesvaraya. His legacy as a visionary engineer and nation-builder was at the heart of the event, inspiring both students and faculty to carry forward his ideals of innovation, dedication, and service to society.
