Hostel 1 Clinches Title at 27th Bharat Bhushan Dhurve Memorial Football Tournament at JEC(BBDMFT-25):3-6 April 2025

The 27th edition of the Bharat Bhushan Dhurve Memorial Football Tournament (BBDMFT) 2025 was held at Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC) from 3–5 April 2025. It was inaugurated by Chief Guest Cantt MLA, Shri Ashok Ishwardas Rohani ji, whose presence at the opening ceremony brought great enthusiasm and motivation to the participating teams. Organised by Hostel 4, the tournament featured intense competition among nine hostel teams, all vying for the coveted title on the college hostel grounds. After a series of exciting matches, Hostel Number 1 emerged as the champions, defeating Hostel Number 7 in a dramatic final decided by a penalty shootout, with a narrow 2-1 victory.The final match was filled with high energy and smart gameplay. Although the intensity dropped a bit in the second half, Hostel Number 1 remained composed and claimed the victory. Deepak Paraste from Hostel 1 was named Man of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance. The winning team, Hostel 1, was awarded a cash prize of ₹11,000, while the runner-up team, Hostel 7, received ₹5,000. JEC Principal Dr. Rajiv Chandak, along with other faculty members, presented the prizes. Hostel 4 pledged to plant five trees for every goal scored in the tournament, encouraging environmental awareness among students.

A special mention goes to Principal Dr. Chandak for his continuous encouragement and commitment to promoting sports as an integral part of student life.. His presence and motivation played a key role in making BBDMFT 2025 a successful event. Shri Sahdev played a crucial role in making the football tournament possible with his sincere support. Credit for the event’s success also goes to Prof. Nitin Saxena, Prof. D.C. Rahi, Prof Sunil Patel, Prof Parte and the dedicated faculty team, whose support made BBDMFT 2025 possible.

MLA Ashok Rohani Honours Shreya Rajak with ‘Pratibha Samman 2025’ at BBDMFT Finale:

At the finale of the Bharat Bhushan Dhurve Memorial Football Tournament (BBDMFT) 2025, Hon’ble Cantt MLA, Shri Ashok Ishwardas Rohani, along with JEC Principal Dr. Rajeev, felicitated Shreya Rajak with the Pratibha Samman 2025 award. Daughter of Shri Sahdev Rajak and Anita Rajak, Shreya has represented Madhya Pradesh and participated in the National Football Championship four times, making her a proud achiever and an inspiration for aspiring athletes at Jabalpur Engineering College.
