JEC Commemorates 77th Independence Day and College Milestones:15 August 2024
On August 15, 2024, Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC) celebrated India’s 77th Independence Day and the college’s 77th anniversary. The campus was beautifully lit up the night before. At 8:00 a.m., Principal Dr. P.K. Jhinge hoisted the national flag, followed by the National Anthem and a salute by NCC Officer Prof. Sunil Patel. NCC cadets, faculty, and students paid tribute to the tricolour, after which Dr. Jhinge addressed the gathering. In his speech, Dr. Jhinge highlighted the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and Madhya Pradesh’s celebrations with rallies, marathons, and music festivals. He shared that all departments of JEC took part in a large-scale tree plantation drive. He also noted that on August 13, 2024, the Ranjhi Police Band performed patriotic music at the college gate, and videos on the Partition were presented to deepen students' understanding of history
Dr. Jhinge addressed the issue of limited staff and heavy workload, emphasising the importance of teamwork and mutual support. He informed us that new faculty appointments are expected soon and emphasised the importance of full staff attendance and preparation for the upcoming accreditation process. He praised the college’s achievements, including patents for the Chakora and Solar Charging Mobile apps for birds, other patents from the Electronics Department, and an Android app created by CSE students Abhay Bairagi and Ayush Chakravarty to share college updates. He also appreciated two MSc Physics students for publishing their research in Laser Pen India and highlighted the success of the TEDx event held in February, with talks uploaded to the official TEDx platform
Dr. Jhinge commended the Examination Cell for declaring results on time, despite election challenges and the counselling team for completing admissions smoothly. He praised the accounts branch for effectively using its funds and clearing all pending bills and thanked the office and maintenance teams for their support in organising college activities. In conclusion, Dr. Jhinge emphasised patriotism, unity, and collective efforts for JEC’s success. After the ceremony, he visited the hostels for flag hoisting, encouraging students to uphold national pride and civic values.
