Power System Planning: Emerging Trends and Technologies (PSPETT-24): 17-18 December 2024
On 17–18 December 2024, Jabalpur Engineering College became a hub of ideas, innovation, and inspiration as it hosted the Power System Planning: Emerging Trends and Technologies (PSPETT-24) conference. Organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering under the patronage of Dr. P.K. Jhinge, with Conference Chair Dr. A.K. Sharma, Co-Chair Dr. Shailja Shukla, Convenor Dr. Preeti Jain, and Co-Convenors Prof. Pradeepti Lakra and Prof. Jitesh Sahu, the event brought together brilliant minds from across India and beyond — experts, researchers, and students — to explore the latest trends shaping the future of the power sector. The conference was held in association with MPPKVV Co., Ltd., IEEE PES MP Section, The Institution of Engineers, and TIFAC-CORE.
The conference featured eminent keynote speakers, including Dr. S.C. Choubey (Director, UIT RGPV, Shivpuri), Dr. V.K. Khare (Ex-Director, Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd.), Dr. Vivek Chandra (Head–IT, MP Discom), Shri R.K. Gupta (Director, PGCIL 400 kV Substation), Dr. Sachin Jain (Professor, IIITDM Jabalpur), Er. Vikas Tripathi (Chief Engineer, Electrical Traction, WCR), Dr. Suresh Vishwakarma (Senior Engineer, BC Hydro, Canada), Dr. R.K. Nema and Prof. Savita Nema (Professors, MANIT Bhopal), Dr. Arvind Jain (NIT Agartala), and Er. Amit Raje (Secretary, IEEE PES, MP Section). They delivered insightful lectures on current and future power system scenarios, challenges, and innovations.Over the two days, 25 technical papers were presented on topics ranging from smart grid planning, renewable energy integration, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure to AI-powered monitoring systems, energy storage, and advanced power electronics. The conference served as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration. The discussions and recommendations emerging from PSPETT-24 are expected to inspire innovative, sustainable, and efficient solutions for the power sector. The organising committee expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, speakers, and sponsors for their support in making PSPETT-24 a success. The conference was more than just a gathering — it was a learning experience, a networking opportunity, and a glimpse into the future of sustainable and reliable power systems.
