Professors’ Efforts in Promoting Hindi in Technical Education: 10 January 2025

On January 10, 2025, on the occasion of World Hindi Day, professors in engineering and medical colleges were honored for their remarkable efforts in supporting Hindi-speaking students. Dr O.P. Chauhan, Dr Gopal Meena, and Dr Bhupendra Gupta from Jabalpur Engineering College have translated engineering course books into Hindi, making technical subjects more accessible.    Their work involved deciphering technical terminology and crafting accurate Hindi equivalents, ensuring that complex concepts are easier to understand and helping students learn without language barriers. In recognition of their efforts, the three engineering professors were honoured by Hon’ble Governor Mangu Bhai Patel at a ceremony held at Rajiv Gandhi University, Bhopal. Their work aligns with the vision of World Hindi Day, celebrated every year on January 10 to promote the global reach of Hindi. Since the first World Hindi Conference in Nagpur in 1974, this day has been dedicated to making Hindi more accessible to the common people. Principal Dr Rajiv Chandak opined that the dedication of these professors ensures that more students can pursue education in their preferred language, making learning more effective.
