An Academic Achievement for JEC: Online Publication of ‘Smart Materials and Applications 27 November 2025.

The book “Smart Materials and Applications,” written by Dr Kamal Kumar Kushwah, Professor  & Head of the Department of Applied Physics at Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC), was released online on November 27, 2025. The virtual release ceremony was attended by several renowned academicians, making the occasion memorable for the college community. Presiding over the online release ceremony, Dr Rajeev Chandak, Principal, Jabalpur Engineering College, appreciated the sincere efforts of Dr Kushwah and the entire editorial team. He congratulated them on this remarkable academic achievement. He described the successful publication of the book as a proud moment for the institution and a reflection of its strong research culture.

  While speaking about the book, Dr Kushwah explained that the increasing use of energy-efficient devices in everyday life makes it essential to focus not only on their application but also on their scientific development and manufacturing. Researchers are continuously working to discover innovative solutions in this area. Recognising the challenges faced by new researchers in materials science, the book provides clear explanations and research-based guidance. The online release ceremony was attended by several eminent academicians who shared their valuable insights. These included Professor Sanjay Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor, Hemchand Yadav University, Durg, Dr P. K. Jhinge, Professor, Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Head of the Department, Chandigarh University, Professor Jeremy J. Ramsden from the University of England, and Dr Pramod Kumar Purohit, Professor and Head of the Department at NITTTR, Bhopal.

The book has been prepared under the guidance of a distinguished editorial board, which includes Dr. Kamal Kumar Kushwaha, Dr. Ajay Kumar Vyas, Head of the Department of Information and Communication Technology, Adani University, and Dr Shilpi Jindal, Professor at Chandigarh University. Their academic leadership has significantly strengthened the quality of the publication.

The book is presented in three volumes comprising 18 chapters. It covers smart materials and their applications along with emerging fields such as nanotechnology, healthcare, sustainable energy, automotive electronics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Contributions from 72 researchers make the book a rich academic resource for students, research scholars, and faculty members.  The programme witnessed the presence of several JEC faculty members, including Dr R. K.
