JEC Celebrates 150 Years of Vande Mataram through Radiation Technology Workshop- 7 November 2025
Marking the 150th anniversary of the National Song Vande Mataram, Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC), in collaboration with the Indian Association for Radiation Protection (IARP), organised a one-day workshop on 'Radiation Technology and the Indian Nuclear Energy Programme' on 7 November 2025. The programme began with a collective Swadeshi Pledge, led by the Principal, Dr Rajeev Chandak, where faculty members and students stood together in unity and pride. The pledge encouraged the use of Indian-made products, support for local artisans, and faith in self-reliance, reflecting the patriotic spirit of Vande Mataram
Scientists from the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, shared their expertise through informative talks and practical demonstrations. Dr Chitra Subramanyam, Senior Scientist and Member, IARP; Dr Shashank Saindane, Scientific Officer and Member, IARP and Shri Yatin Madhukar Thakur, Member, IARP and SCIT Director, BARC, explained how nuclear energy and radiation technology contribute to national development in areas such as power generation, healthcare, and industry. The experts also discussed safety and responsibility in the use of nuclear technology, guiding students on career opportunities in the nuclear and radiation fields. The sessions helped students understand how science can be used for the peaceful progress of the nation 
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr Rajeev Chandak and coordinated by Dr Shilpa Saxena, Dr Kamal Kumar Kushwaha, and Mrs Divyani Soni. A large number of students and faculty members attended the workshop. The workshop beautifully connected science with patriotism, reminding young minds that serving the nation through knowledge, innovation, and self-reliance is the true spirit of Vande Mataram
