Inauguration of the Induction Programme at Jabalpur Engineering College:18 August 2024

On 18 August 2025, the week-long Induction Programme for newly admitted students was inaugurated at Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC) under the guidelines of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The inaugural ceremony began with the traditional veneration of Goddess Saraswati, followed by the lamp-lighting ceremony. Dr. Shilpa Saxena, Dean  Students' Welfare & the coordinator of the programme, introduced the objectives and structure of the Induction Programme. The Heads of Departments then addressed the students, acquainting them with their respective branches.The Principal, Dr Rajeev Chandak, shared information about the college’s excellent placement record and the laboratory facilities available across the departments. He also highlighted the history of the institution with special reference to Shri Ajai Chowdhry ji, co-founder of HCL and a distinguished alumnus of JEC, who generously donated the Jashan Auditorium to his alma mater. This reference was intended to inspire the newly admitted students by presenting the achievements of JEC alumni and their lasting contributions to the growth of the college

The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Kamal Kumar Kushwaha, HOD Department of Applied Physics & co-coordinator of the induction programme. The stage proceedings were conducted by Dr. Kanchan Khare, who systematically highlighted the importance of each branch while introducing the respective Heads of Departments, along with Dr. Mahima Thakur.

In the afternoon session, the students, accompanied by their mentors, were given a guided tour of the campus. This initiative aimed to familiarise them with the academic blocks, laboratories, library, hostels, and other facilities, thereby helping them integrate smoothly into the campus environment. Thus, the first day of the Induction Programme successfully set the tone for the week-long schedule, providing students with valuable insights into the academic, cultural, and infrastructural strengths of Jabalpur Engineering College.
