Hon’ble Minister Shri Indra Singh Parmar Chairs Technical Institutions Meeting at JEC: 19 August 2025

A meeting of technical educational institutions was held at Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC) under the chairmanship of the Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education, Technical Education, and AYUSH, Shri Indra Singh Parmar. The meeting reviewed the progress of institutions in the division and discussed measures to strengthen academic standards and institutional development. Apart from other important issues, the meeting primarily focused on the all-round development of students, equipping them with employable skills, and creating awareness about the rich Indian heritage given by our Rishi-Munis. The Minister emphasised on ensuring well-equipped laboratories, effective internship programmes, and strong placement activities so that graduates secure better opportunities. He also advised colleges to plant trees in vacant spaces, enrich libraries with reference books alongside textbooks, and promote awareness of India’s knowledge traditions.                                           

Referring to India’s historical contributions, Shri Parmar recalled that the city of Beijing was designed by an Indian architect, Shri Bal Bahu; India introduced the calculation system to the world, and Indian mathematicians described the Pythagoras theorem as early as 800 BC. He underlined that education is the medium to transmit knowledge and urged institutions to play an active role in addressing societal challenges. Shri Parmar stressed that every effort contributes to nation-building, and institutions must prepare students to become both skilled professionals and responsible citizens                                                 

The meeting was attended by Professor Virendra Kumar, Director of Technical Education; Dr. Rajeev Chandak, Principal of JEC; along with the principals and faculty members of technical institutions from across the division The proceedings concluded with a sapling plantation in the Vidyavan Garden of Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC), in which Hon’ble Minister Shri Indra Singh Parmar, Professor Virendra Kumar, and Dr. Rajeev Chandak, Principal of JEC, jointly participated, conveying the message of developing green and sustainable campuses. This initiative reflected JEC’s commitment to academic excellence combined with environmental responsibility.                                                                               

The proceedings concluded with a sapling plantation in the Vidyavan Garden of Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC), in which Hon’ble Minister Shri Indra Singh Parmar, Professor Virendra Kumar, and Dr. Rajeev Chandak, Principal of JEC, jointly participated, conveying the message of developing green and sustainable campuses.
