Comprehensive Induction Programme: A Transformative Week for Student Development: 18-23 August 2025

As per AICTE norms, a one-week Induction Programme was organised at Jabalpur Engineering College from 18 to 23 August 2025. The programme was inaugurated on 18 August  2025 and concluded with the valedictory ceremony on 23 August 2025. Throughout the week, the newly admitted students were engaged in a variety of sessions that focused on personality development, career guidance, health awareness, constitutional values, science and technology, stress management, and placement preparation. 
PRANAYAM

Each morning began with yoga sessions conducted under the guidance of Prof. D.C. Rahi, Dr. Bhavna Singh, and Dr. Mahima Thakur. Students practised various asanas and breathing exercises and also engaged in games and sports activities, which were designed to make them physically fit, mentally strong, and aware of the importance of incorporating yoga and sports into their daily lives

Awareness and Guidance Sessions for Holistic Student Development:

The Induction Programme also featured expert sessions designed to enhance students’ personal growth, decision-making skills, and overall well-being.

Personality Development and Career Insights:
Er. Ashutosh Dwivedi introduced students to the importance of personality development, emphasising how self-confidence and character-building play a crucial role in achieving success. Er. Shubham Gupta shared valuable career insights to help students prepare for upcoming opportunities. Adding to this, Er. Abhishek Agrawal emphasised the significance of making timely decisions, explaining how effective decision-making is essential for life management and long-term success.

Health and Well-Being:
Special attention was given to the theme of health. Dr. Himanshu Acharya from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College advised students to study without stress and maintain balance in life. Dr. Rishi Banshpal delivered an insightful lecture on “Ergonomics for Engineers and the Engineers’ Role in the Medical Field.” He explained how adopting correct work habits and ergonomics not only improves health but also enhances efficiency and ensures sustainable career growth.

Civic Responsibility:
Shri Pramod Shrivastava, District SWEEP Coordinator, reminded students of their fundamental responsibility as citizens, stressing the power of voting and the vital role of youth in strengthening democracy. He urged them to actively participate in the Electoral Literacy Club and ensure full involvement in upcoming elections. Students were further encouraged not only to exercise their right to vote but also to inspire others to do the same.

Knowledge and Inspiration:
Dr. Ashish Tiwari and Shri Ashutosh Dwivedi advised students to develop the habit of reading newspapers regularly, as it is essential for staying updated with current affairs and for personal growth. Prof. Sunil Singh delivered a session on the proud legacy of Indian science, inspiring students with the nation’s remarkable achievements and contributions. Shri Aman Arora, in his session on the “Inner Game of Success”, reminded students that there are no shortcuts to success and that it can only be achieved through hard work and dedication.

Constitutional Awareness:
Dr. Rashmi Pathak deepened students’ understanding of the Constitution and judiciary, underlining the importance of democracy, rights, and equality in everyday life. She also emphasised the importance of awareness and adherence to laws in daily conduct.

Career Development:
The programme also provided practical guidance on career preparedness. Dr. Saurabh Singh, Prof. Madhuri Gokhale, and the Training and Placement (TPO) team offered valuable placement tips and structured advice on career development. Club activities were an important part of the induction programme, giving new students a chance to explore their interests beyond academics. The C Cube Club presented, in a very engaging way, how distractions can lead the young generation toward drug addiction. These activities not only promoted interaction and teamwork but also introduced students to the cultural, technical, and literary aspects of college life.                              

Induction ProgrammeThe programme concluded with a meaningful Valedictory Ceremony on 23 August 2025. On this occasion, members of the college’s "Kaarwaa Group" performed a street play to spread awareness about the dangers of drug addiction. Through their performance, they conveyed the message that addiction ruins careers, and only by staying away from it can the youth build a better future. A tree plantation drive was also carried out in the college’s Vrindavan Garden, as well as in other parts of the campus

Induction programme The programme was meticulously planned and coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Shilpa Saxena(Dean of Students' Welfare) and Dr. Kamal Kumar Kushwaha, HOD, Department of Applied Science & Dean of Research & Development,  with the support of co-coordinators Dr. Kanchan Khare, Dr. Mahima Thakur, and Dr. S.K. Mahobia. With the Principal’s constant support, the event successfully combined academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities, ensuring the overall development of students. During the valedictory ceremony, the coordinators, Dr. Shilpa Saxena and Dr. Kamal Kumar Kushwaha, presented a brief recap of the programme, followed by an address from Principal Dr. Rajeev Chandak. The dedication of group mentors and student volunteers, who carried out their responsibilities with sincerity, played a key role in its success. The wide range of sessions, engaging club activities, and carefully chosen topics made the Induction Programme a truly meaningful and memorable experience for the newly admitted students
