The inaugural function of the two-week special technical workshop, Techblitz 2025, was held at Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC) on August 1, 2025. Organised by the Cosmos Club under the guidance of Dr. Jitendra Singh Thakur, Head of the Computer Science Department, the workshop was designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and its real-world application in the industry. After a series of sessions, the valedictory function of Techblitz 2025 was held on 4 September 2025. The chief guest was Ms. Pragati Saraf, a Google professional and distinguished alumna of JEC, while the function was presided over by Principal Dr. Rajeev Chandak.
In his address, Dr. Chandak congratulated the COSMOS Club volunteers and Dr. Jitendra Singh Thakur for the successful organisation of the workshop. He noted the uniqueness of the event, where students benefited from online talks delivered by alumni currently working with ISRO, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and TCS. Praising Ms. Saraf for her achievements, he highlighted her remarkable transition from civil engineering to the software industry—two fields that are poles apart—and encouraged students to learn from her adaptability and determination. He also advised students not to rely solely on campus placements but to prepare themselves for national competitive examinations to broaden their career opportunities. Dr. Rajeev Chandak emphasised that “the aim of this technical workshop is not just to help students pass examinations, but to prepare them for successful careers."
In her interaction, Ms. Saraf emphasized the importance of skill development, internships, adaptability, and the role of women in the technology sector.
